Tournament Structure for the AT&T Byron Nelson
The AT&T Byron Nelson is a four-day long, stroke play golf tournament that forms a significant part of the PGA Tour. As always with golf tournaments such as this, the tournament begins on a ꦚThursday as players undertake their first of what they hope will be four days' play, each one of which involves a full 18-hole round of golf.
Not all players that started out on Thursday will still be in the field come Sunday. This is because a cut is introduced after day two that separates the strugglers and the hangers-on f🐻rom those pla🍰yers that are performing better. Come Sunday's play, players will all have posted their accumulated par score for the four days, and the player with the lowest score will be crowned the winner.
It is quite common for golfers to be tied in sc🍨ore at the end of the tournament, in which case a playoff is employed in order to separate the tied players and find the tournament’s winner.

Popular Bets for the AT&T Byron Nelson
Few sports are as popular with bettors the world over as golf, due to the value it provides on even its shortest-priced favourites as well as the huge fields of players that tee off each week. The large number of competitors result in bet types that other sports are unable to create a market for.
Below, we give you a full breakdown of all the best markets to watch out for for this event. If you need brushing up or are new to the sport in general, check out our detailed guide to golf terms to get yourself up to speed.
Tournament Winner
This is unquestionably the most popular betting market in golf – a straight up single bet on which golfer will be crowned the champion come Sunday. So long as ℱyour selection does indeed go on to win, you will scoop a prღofit on top of your returned stake.

Each-Way Betting
With certain sports, there is the opportunity to certify your wager by making it each-way. For double the stake money, an each-way bet is one part outright win and one part place finish bet. With the betting odds in golf always b🦩eing so generous, even a 1/4 of the odds will make for a nice return as long as your player comes in whatever amount of places your bookmaker is paying to.
Note: these will vary from bookie to bookie as the tourney approaches, with each site jostling for your attention and your money. Moreover, if events begin to unfold against your favour, you always have the option of cashing out.
Best AT&T Byron Nelson betting site for each-way betting: Paddy Power
Round Leader
Major tournaments such as Byron Nelson are competed over four rounds, allowing you to pick who you believe will have the lowest score of a particular round. It does not necessarily have to be the player that wins the competition outright, as one player may come to the fore for one d🥃ay before fading away drastically. As a result, there can be value to be founဣd for using this market.

Head-to-Head Betting
On this Byron Nelson betting market, you pit golfers against one another to see which player will have the lowest score either in the competition or in a particular round. Your odds will be lower based on limited outcomes available, but it does present you with a definitive option to win or lose your bet based on whic𝕴h player emerges with the better score. It may require a higher stake, but it does offer a better chance of a win that a straight outright bet on the tournament winner.

Top Nationality
Another idea is to bet on the Top Nationality market, which requires you to pick a name to be the best performing player from a selected nationality. So long as your nominated Englishman, Italian, Spaniard, Australian, or other outplays his fellow countrymen, you will be quids in. However, it is worth remembering that American competitors will vastly outweigh players from overseas, and their odds will alter accordingly.

Hole-in-One
Finally, we have the golf specific prop bet that is the hole-in-one bet. This is simply betting on whether or not a player, any player, will land a hole-in-one on any one of the days’ play. There isn’t really a strategy required to win th♊is bet, as most know that such a wager is a bit of a freak, and highly unlikely to pay off. It is, however, a fun side bet.

History of the AT&T Byron Nelson
With a history that stretches back as far as 1944, the AT&T Byron Nelson has seen it all. No wonder, too, as it is the 9th longest-running active tournament on the entire PGA Tour schedule. Although there had been a tournament staged in 💖1926 called the Dallas Open, this was shelved after one solo run, and it wasn’t until 1944 that this tournament, then called the Texas Victory Open, re-emerged.
The tournament was played at Dallas’ Lakewood Country Club and was won by Byron Nelson himself, whose name was added to the title in 1968. Nelson’s name also lends itself to two prizes wh♏ich are awarded at the Byron Nelson Championship.
One, the Byron Nelson Prize, is presented to an individual or an institution who displays the three major traits Byron Nelson stood for: philanthropy, integrity, and of course, sportsmanship. The other, the Byron Nelson International Junior Golf Awards, honours junior golfers worldwide. The award winners excel not only in tournament play, but also in acadeꦺmics, as well as having an outstanding personality and showing a great commitment to their community.
In 2020, the tournament was cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. It returned to the PGA Tour in 2021 with a new home at the TPC Craig Ranch, and was won for the second time in succession by a Korean golfer as Lee Kyoung-hoon followed in the fo🌱otsteps of 2019 win🦂ner Kang Sung-hoon.
